Current-mode Amplification

Each Focal Utopia Main 112 studio monitor is powered by a dedicated external Class H current-mode amplifier. This amplifier was developed specifically for the Utopia Main 112, yielding what are possibly the lowest THD levels ever measured. This custom-tailored design governs electrical current rather than voltage, enabling it to take direct physical control of the force of the speaker’s drivers, producing the purest sound possible with zero artificial sonic artifacts. The Utopia Main 112’s amplifier also houses built-in tuning features, including two parametric EQs, per-driver volume trims, low- and high-shelf filters, soffit-compensation and port-compensation filters, front LED deactivation, standby mode deactivation, and more.

Optimized Cabinet with Resonance-defeating Bracing

Even the Utopia Main 112’s cabinet features an optimized design. It all starts with robust 30 mm-thick MDF construction.
