DAC-Z8 is a compact digital to analog converter with excellent workmanship and high performance.
Enjoy exceptional sound quality, great preamp performance and a convenient built-in headphone amplifier. Featuring the XMOS 316 processor and flagship ES9038 Pro DAC chip, it supports up to DSD512, PCM 768Khz @ 32Bit, and MQA full decoding.
Convenient control options and a rich set of inputs make the device a worthy pairing with high end headphones and stereo speakers.
High Performance ES9038Pro DAC
The ESS flagship ES9038Pro DAC chip is known as the industry benchmark, with eight channels of headroom and extremely low noise and distortion.
Ideal Implementation
Just as — if not more — important as the DAC chip is how it's been implemented in a system. Thanks to EverSolo development engineers' rich experience in analog circuit design, DAC-Z8 has a professional-grade calibration and circuit design. The total harmonic distortion ratio which has been measured is -124dB ( 0.000062% ), while signal-to-noise ratio and dynamic range are 133dB. These industry-leading indicators are a solid foundation for great sound quality.
Abundant Digital Filters
Choose from a variety of digital filter modes in the DAC setting menu to meet different demands and preferences. DAC-Z8 features 7 PCM filters and 4 DSD filters from which to select.
High Precision Clock Oscillators
Two low jitter clock oscillators ( 45.1584MHz and 49.152MHz ) are integrated in DAC-Z8, which correspond to 44.1 KHz and 48KHz multiplied sampling management. The result is more accurate audio decoding.
XMOS 316 Processor for Format Support
The 3rd generation XMOS 316 has faster speed and better USB bandwidth than previous processors, which ensures lossless transmission for high-definition audio data. The USB output supports DSD512 Native, PCM768@32bit, and MQA full decoding. Optical and Coaxial outputs support DSD64 (DoP) and PCM192@24Bit.
MQA Full Decoding
DAC-Z8 includes MQA ( Master Quality Authenticated ) technology through USB, Optical, and Coaxial, which enables you to play back MQA audio files and streams, delivering the sound of the original master recording.
Op-Amps
DAC-Z8's I/V ( current to voltage ) circuit is made up of eight OPA1612 Op-Amps. Multichannel signal shunt compensation technology has also been incorporated. The result is that XLR, RCA, and headphone output signals remain lossless, with improved channel separation, dynamic range, and sound integrity.
Differential Amplifier Circuit & Balanced Preamp Output
The analog audio circuit is a fully balanced design. The XLR, RCA, and headphone outputs are all processed by a balanced differential amplifier circuit. Unwanted noise has been eliminated by resolving the crosstalk of the shared loop, also improving channel separation. The high-fidelity preamp circuit supports refined and precise volume adjustment, without the need to connect with an additional preamp.
Low Ripple Power Module
A low-noise regulated power supply module and dedicated ultra low-noise audio filter capacitor are tailored for DAC-Z8. It powers the audio circuit and ensures clearer sound, with low ripple and less interference.
Wide Variety of Inputs
DAC-Z8 has a rich selection of ports for digital audio input, including Coaxial, Optical, asynchronous USB-B, and USB-C. The Bluetooth audio input option can also be used to wirelessly connect with sources.
Qualcomm QCC5125 Bluetooth Module
In addition to wired inputs, DAC-Z8 also features a built-in Bluetooth audio receiver in the form of the Qualcomm QCC5125 module. Thanks to support for the full suite of SBC, AAC, aptX, aptX LL, aptX HD, and LDAC codecs, you'll know you're getting the best possible Bluetooth quality when you pair your mobile phone, tablet, or computer.
Separate RCA & XLR Output
In order to reduce the possible signal interference of the RCA and XLR outputs operating simultaneously, DAC-Z8 can control its output separately to achieve higher audio performance. If desired, through the menu system, the RCA and XLR outputs can also be manually enabled for simultaneous output.
Headphone Amplifier
The professional headphone amp circuit in DAC-Z8 has excellent sound; the focus was prioritizing quality of output over sheer power. This high-performance headphone amplifier drives the majority of popular HiFi headphones with both high and low gain output options.
Aluminum Chassis
DAC-Z8 is made of aviation-grade CNC aluminum, creating a stable chassis structure. Enjoy a combination of modern visual appearance and classic build quality.
User Interface
The 3" LCD screen on DAC-Z8 displays the colorful and intuitive user interface. Navigate menu settings, audio source selection, enable VU meters, and display playback info.
VU Meters
Don't just hear your music — enjoy it visually, too. Multiple VU meter designs elevate DAC-Z8 even higher, a feature and design polish not often seen at this price point.
On-Board Control
The knob on the front panel is multifunctional, controlling more than just volume adjustment. Press the knob to access input source switching, output selection, filter modes, VU meters, system language setup, firmware updates, and more.
Remote Control
The DAC-Z8 includes a remote control for easy adjustment of volume, input, and settings — even if you're sitting on the other side of the room.
App Control
DAC-Z8 can even be controlled remotely using your smartphone with the EverSolo Controller app. Connect via Bluetooth and access the comprehensive settings menu, just like you would on the on-board display.
