The Naim NAP 250 power amplifier is the perfect partner of the NSC 222, but brings Naim's characteristic foot-tapping performance to all manner of systems.
The NAP 250 first appeared in 1975 and soon became an iconic product. Today, in its sixth generation, the NAP 250 delivers more power than ever and offers even more flexibility. As always with Naim, its 100 watts of A/B class power per channel sounds far bigger and more involving than the numbers suggest, thanks to the use of high-performance power supplies and high current delivery.
Adaptive fan and heatsink cooling allows the NAP 250 to be driven hard. Naim's trademark DIN connections have been replaced by balanced XLR connections, and it uses the Naim Audio DR ( Discrete Regulator ) technology and eddy current separator between speaker outputs from the Statement series.
Single-ended connections can be made using the Naim adaptor cord.
As always, the NAP 250 is built around simple but elegant circuits using extremely carefully matched and high-performing components. The visual design eschews any flourishes and features that do not contribute to performance targets or add to the sound quality.
