( Primary Wave ) 12 track, gatefold cover, limited 50th Anniversary Edition.
"If Not for You" is the debut album by 23-year-old Olivia Newton-John. Originally released in November 1971, it features hits from the 60s and 70s, including "Me and Bobby McGee" (Kris Kristofferson) and, of course, the title track made famous by Bob Dylan.
AllMusic gave the album a positive review, giving it four out of five stars: "It would be a mistake to think that these [songs] are all mere 'covers'. The production and arrangements by Bruce Welch and John Farrar are innovative and worthwhile."
