The AP-505 stereo power amplifier features a Hypex Ncore class D power amplifier, specifically tuned for TEAC, with a rated output of 70 watts / channel ( 8 ohms, 1k Hz, THD 0.8% ) & three-position patent-registered pin-point feet.
The power amplifier section has integrated protection circuits to guard against current surges, over-voltage and overheating.
A toroidal-core power transformer is said to improve the power supply's ability to resist fluctuations in output, allowing the AX-505 to maintain its rated output power under heavy load. The power section also integrates Schottky barrier diodes, to increase efficiency and reduce heat. The headphone amplifier with CCLC delivers full low-frequency audio and "a robust headphone soundstage."
Design details include an aluminum cabinet with machined aluminum knobs and large gold-plated screw-style speaker terminals. VU meters have a four-step dimmable backlight and AD / DA circuits. It's available in black or silver.
