The TD 1601's interior is full of innovations and offers additional convenience functions for operation.

The three springs of the sub-chassis do not hang on the top board, but stand on the floor. At the same time, a tensioned steel thread in the extension of the motor roller - plate axis prevents lateral wobbling and thus ensures a piston-shaped oscillation of the sub-chassis even when starting when the motor power is strongest and the belt is pulling sideways on the plate axis.
In addition, it offers the convenience of an electric lift that can be operated at the push of a button, a contactless limit switch and fully symmetrical output

Thorens TD 1601 combines everything TD 1600 brings with some additional features regarding comfort and connection to amplifiers. Classical wooden plinth, two-part platter with inner belt and thick rubber mat, powerful motor control unit, arm board, and acrylic dust cover are expanded by balanced outputs and functions for easier handling.

The conical springs for sub-chassis are not mounted on the top board any longer but standing on the bottom. Additionally, a small but strong tightened thread made of steel connects the sub-chassis with a steel pin on the bottom and so prevents sub-chassis from staggering and allows only vertical movement. An electrical lift is included, too and a contactless auto shut off. XLR jacks provide a real balanced connection to amplifiers.
