180 gram Vinyl Reissue! Mastered from the Original Analog Tapes by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering!

Women and Children First is the third studio album by American hard rock band Van Halen, released on March 26, 1980 on Warner Bros. Records. Produced by Ted Templeman, it was the first to feature compositions written solely by the band, and is described by critic Stephen Thomas Erlewine as "[the] record where the group started to get heavier, both sonically and, to a lesser extent, thematically."

Van Halen flexed their artistic muscles for this 1980 album, which David Fricke called "high volume art" in his 1980 review. The LP went to # 6 in Billboard and served up songs that are among the band's greatest tracks "And the Cradle Will Rock," "Everybody Wants Some," and "Could This Be Magic."

Mastering engineer Chris Bellman, who remastered the original albums for Bernie Grundman Studios, Hollywood, CA, was enlisted for these new versions (2015). In order to produce the original sound the band intended, Bellman cut straight from the quarter-inch tapes for CD; for 180-gram vinyl; and for the digital version.
